As we all know, artificial intelligence also known as AI, has a broad concept. Although many people think that there are a lot of technical and complicated sides of AI which is completely accurate, it does not mean that AI is just responsible for scientific progress. It is a known fact that AI is designed by human beings like everything else in this world and if a human being gets involved in something to create big, it takes a lot of responsibility and also it causes many concerns.

AI is one of the significant tools that conquers the digital era and one of the concerns that AI causes is definitely the concern of ethics.

What is AI in Ethics?

AI in ethics is a system of moral principles and techniques intended to inform the development and responsible use of artificial intelligence. AI in ethics deals with challenges of responsibility, fairness, explainability, misuse etc. AI in ethics can be described also as a framework that establishes guidelines for using AI responsibly.

What are the Purposes of AI in Ethics?

The purpose of AI in ethics is to provide stakeholders with guidance when faced with an ethical decision regarding the use of artificial intelligence. Moreover, the purpose of AI in ethics is also to guide data experts and data scientists along the way and remind them how serious and important their work is. One of the significant key factors about AI in ethics is that the rapid advancement of AI in the past five to ten years, enforce groups of data experts to develop safeguards for protecting against the risk of AI to humans.

What Ethical Principles should AI Have?

There are a lot of ethical principles that AI has but these principles need to be narrowed down so that the concept of AI in Ethics could be understood clearly. Firstly, AI needs to be human centric and socially beneficial meaning humans should be in charge. AI is designed for a greater purpose to help the digital era actualize itself as much as possible and human beings need to use this endless power for the good. Being transparent is also one of the ethical principles that AI should have and it has a significant role on maintaning a stable ethical outlook. In addition to being transparent, being lawful is also an important ethical principle that AI needs to add to itself. Laws and regulations are the implementation of control measures based on our social and moral judgments. Thus, it is crucial that being lawful as an ethical principle is something that AI needs to have so that the control measure could be maintained.

Guidelines for AI in Ethics

We simply could create some guidelines for AI in ethics;

-Do not secretly manipulate people with the power of data that AI provides in general.

-Respect privacy.

-Dont use data and technology excessively

-Make sure that the decisions that are made with AI are explainable

-Be transparent about AI system being involved

-Be socially beneficial  and human centric.

The Future of AI in Ethics

There are many arguments about the future of AI in ethics. Some experts indicate that AI Code of Ethics is often not updated enough to keep up with the fast-changing field of artificial intelligence. The approach of reactive is still the dominant one in the field of AI in ethics and this is one of the main problems of AI in ethics because it should be replaced with the approach of proactive so that AI Code of Ethics could keep up with the fast-changing field of artificial intelligence. On the other hand, some experts try to indicate the importance of societal norms and fairness when it comes to discuss the future of AI in ethics. If AI wants to prove its working environment day by day, it should focus on improving the guidelines of ethics. For now, we have to turn to humans to develop rules and technologies that promote responsible AI.
